AISIN USA launches advanced cooling plate manufacturing line

July 9, 2026

AISIN USA Mfg. Inc. recently announced the successful launch of a new cooling plate manufacturing line at its Seymour facility, marking another significant milestone in the company’s commitment to advanced manufacturing and the future of vehicle electrification.

The new production line at AISIN USA’s Plant 2 in the Eastside Industrial Park will manufacture aluminum cooling plates used in battery thermal management systems for electrified vehicles. These precision-engineered components play a critical role in maintaining optimal battery temperatures, helping improve performance, charging efficiency, durability and overall vehicle safety.

The investment expands AISIN’s manufacturing capabilities while strengthening its North American supply chain to support the growing demand for electrified mobility solutions.

“Our new cooling plate manufacturing line represents an important step in AISIN’s electrification strategy,” said Shawn Deppen, president of AISIN USA. “This investment reflects our commitment to supporting our customers with innovative, high-quality thermal management products while reinforcing our position as a trusted automotive supplier. Just as importantly, it demonstrates our continued confidence in our team members, our Seymour operation and the future of advanced manufacturing in Indiana.”

The manufacturing process incorporates advanced automation, precision aluminum forming, brazing technology, leak testing and quality inspection systems to ensure every cooling plate meets AISIN’s rigorous standards for quality, reliability and performance.

The new line also enhances production flexibility, enabling AUM to efficiently support multiple customer programs while maintaining the company’s commitment to world-class manufacturing and continuous improvement.

As one of North America’s leading automotive suppliers, AISIN continues to invest in technologies that support the industry’s transition toward electrified vehicles. The cooling plate program builds upon the company’s global expertise in thermal management and further positions the Seymour facility as a key manufacturing location for next-generation automotive components.

“This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication, teamwork and technical expertise of our employees,” Deppen said. “Their commitment to excellence continues to drive innovation and deliver the quality our customers expect from AISIN.”

The cooling plate manufacturing line is now operational with production supporting current and future customer programs across North America.

AISIN USA manufactures high-quality automotive components and systems for many of the world’s leading automotive manufacturers. Since its founding in 1988, the company has remained committed to quality, innovation, environmental responsibility and respect for people while supporting the continued evolution of the global automotive industry. As part of the global AISIN Group, the company contributes to the development of technologies that advance mobility and vehicle electrification.
