Jackson County Industrial Development Corp. put a twist on an annual event.
For 2026, the organization partnered with the Jackson County Learning Center for the Career Expo, which took place Sept. 2 at the learning center in Seymour. This was an opportunity for the public to learn about local companies that offer employment, training, education and support in the area.
Local companies currently hiring were there to help people learn about employment opportunities. They included Excel Manufacturing Inc., Guardian Bikes, JCBank, Lannett Company Inc., Nippon Steel Pipe America Inc., Rose Acre Farms, Schneck Medical Center, Silgan Plastics, SMX Staffing for Valeo, SpaceGuard Products, Trilogy Health Services & Synchrony Rehab for Covered Bridge Health Campus and WorkOne, all in Seymour, along with Fastenal Fulfillment Center in North Vernon.
Several educational institutions were present, too, sharing information about college, career training, High School Equivalency and English Language Learner courses available. They included Indiana University Columbus, Jackson County Learning Center, McDowell Adult Education, Purdue Polytechnic Institute Columbus, READ Jackson County and Vincennes University.
A few community organizations that offer resources to workers also attended. They included Child Care Network, Jackson County Clothing Center and Seymour Transit.
A QR code linked to our website was handed to attendees so they could find links to the participants’ websites to apply for jobs and learn more. That link is https://jcidc.com/2026/08/24/career-expo-career-links/.
