This summer’s Educator Externship has wrapped up.
For four different dates this month, local school staff members had an opportunity to sign up to participate. Each week, a group toured two local industries. They found out what the company does and what opportunities there are for employment. The teachers will receive a stipend after submitting a report about what they learned and how they will take that back to their school and help students.
June 24 was the fourth and final day of the program. Six educators spent the morning at AISIN USA Mfg. Inc. and the afternoon at Lannett Company Inc., both in Seymour. AISIN produces automotive components and systems, and Lannett is a generic pharmaceutical manufacturer.
JCIDC would like to thank both of these companies for giving educators an opportunity to learn more about what they do, and we thank the educators for participating in order to benefit their students.
